Kieran McKenna joined SEG Solar in June 2021 as a Marketing, Media & Communications Intern. He currently conducting a summer project involving a series of questions he is asking to find the pulse of sustainable energy in our community.

Kieran is also responsible for customer relations as well as the video production of customer testimonials and SEG branding projects.

Kieran will return to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in the fall to earn his degree in Environmental Management and minors in Sustainable Environments and Spanish. There, he is the President of the Association of Environmental Professionals club and contributes to on-campus research of algae biofuels. He is also a volunteer with the city of San Luis Obispo working to develop their climate change resiliency plan.

Kieran was raised in Seattle, WA and San Rafael, CA. Through eco-education summer camps, Conservation Corps programs, and farm volunteer work, Kieran developed a passion for the protection and admiration of the Pacific Coast’s natural beauty at a young age.

He continues to foster this passion for sustainable efforts at his new home in Grass Valley, CA with the development of an off-grid homestead.

Kieran is driven by the preservation of things big and small. He is dedicated to the conservation of natural resources and prioritizes equitable access to clean energy and natural spaces for all.

After graduation, Kieran will travel to South America to contribute to environmental conservation efforts at a grassroots level.

In his free time he enjoys woodworking, reading, and restoring antique tools.
